Our fishery is located on the NW side of Roatan. We have approximately 25 miles of permit flats along with the opportunity to explore the East end from Oakridge as well.

Permit is the word of the day on the NW side of Roatan. Mostly poling large deeper grass flats for cruising and feeding permit. Water depth ranges from 1'-8' over mostly turtle grass so medium weight WEEDLESS flies. Occasionally we step out to wade. Tevas and keens are adequate for our wading needs. Bonefish numbers have been increasing with a few shots a day available.

Occasionally we run into big cudas as well. So a few cuda flies are always good to have handy.

Spinning gear is a great way to target permit too. We use 12lb gear with live crabs or soft baits such as Berkley gulp shrimp and crabs. I prefer 1/0 circle hooks and some light split shot.

8-10 wt rods with good reels. Weedless crab and mantis shrimp patterns in browns and greens. Floating lines and 12' 15-20lb leaders as well as a spool of 15-20lb fluorocarbon tippet.

Fishing rods and reels are also available to anyone wishing to not carry all the extra gear. Learn more about tackle on our GEAR page.
